How long have you lived in Larimer County?
What is your occupation?
Commercial Real Estate
Why did you become a member of Generation United?
I am very involved with Neighbor to Neighbor, Inc., a local non-profit organization which aims to provide stable housing and housing counseling services to Larimer County residents. Through my involvement with N2N, I have learned that education is such an important piece of ending the circle of poverty, particularly a high school diploma, so when I learned of Generation United's mission, I knew I had to get involved.
Why do you think it's important for young professionals in Larimer County to give back?
We live in such a beautiful community and the community is outstanding because of the great members of the community who give of their time and money to continue to improve what is already one of the best places to live in America. It's important for our generation to be involved as many of the "baby boomers" retire and spend more of their time enjoying life rather than dedicating time and energy towards non-profit organizations.
What one word best describes Larimer County?
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Larry Kendall taught me the "platinum rule". Instead of treating others as you want to be treated (the "golden rule"), the "platinum rule" says that you should treat others how they want to be treated. I really like this premise because each person is unique and has different goals, expectations and interests. Keeping this in mind has helped me a great deal in business and my personal life.
What are your favorite things?
Family, friends, traveling, sports, the Denver Broncos, the Denver Nuggets, Old Town, fall, CSU sports, Chipotle and the Rio.
What are your least favorite things?
Cold weather, rude people, Phillip Rivers, and CU sports (when CU is playing CSU).
Generation United, a Young Leaders Society, is a group made up of young professionals under the age of 40 who are committed to making a difference through philanthropy and volunteerism.
