Excellent! You’ve taken your first step at getting involved with the PSD Volunteer Drive by seeking ways to volunteer, raise money, and help others in the community. There are so many ways you can help!
- Volunteer to help an organization or group with which you are already involved (local nonprofits, Scouts/4-H, youth or faith groups, etc.). You can clean up the facility, complete a data entry project, or update a bulletin board.
- Participate in a school-sponsored project related to the PSD Volunteer Drive. Options will be advertised at your school and may include a Poverty Simulation, school improvement project, or craft project to benefit a local non-profit agency. See below for more information about activities at your school.
- Create your own project! Use the United Way Volunteer Resource Guide or information found at www.uwaylc.org to learn about agencies that may need your help. Contact the agency, present your idea, and complete the project on your own or with a group of your friends, family, and neighbors. Click HERE for a list of ideas to get you started with volunteering and fundraising, or HERE for a “wish list” of needs by local non-profit agencies (try organizing a donation drive for much-needed materials).
- Volunteer with an agency. Visit www.uwaylc.org, click on VOLUNTEER, and complete a simple search through the “Find Volunteer Opportunities” search bar at the bottom of the page. Find an agency with which you can volunteer and contact them to schedule a time to help. For a list of current options, click HERE.
- Set a fundraising and volunteering goal for yourself. For example, make it your goal to raise $1 per day and volunteer two hours per week. If 6,000 PSD students raised $1 per day during the PSD Volunteer Drive, we would collect $78,000 to help those in need in Larimer County!
