When employees invest in United Way, their contribution has the power to bring about change that matters in our community.
Employee Campaign
Hosting an employee campaign is the most effective way for your company to get involved with United Way. By allowing employees the opportunity to learn more about United Way and the choice to make a personal contribution through a presentation from United Way staff, you are giving them the chance to truly make a difference in our community.
Employees can give through one of many options:
- A one-time gift of either cash, check or credit card
- Payroll deduction, if your company permits
- Receiving a bill from United Way on a set schedule
- Automatic bank withdrawal
- Participating in fundraising events in the workplace including: silent auctions, bake sales, managers jail, chili cook off and many more
- Volunteer opportunities through 2-1-1

Pacesetter Campaign
Organizations running their employee campaigns in June, July or August commit to a goal of a 15% increase in donor dollars and participation. This commitment is considered the Pacesetter Challenge and the winner takes home a traveling trophy for the year.
Please see the documents ABOVE for more information on Pacesetter expectations and the Pacesetter Challenge.
Make a Difference Day
Create an opportunity for your employees to experience the impact of United Way first-hand while giving them the chance to directly help people in need in our community through this county-wide volunteer effort. This week long event is a great way for your company to organize a team to go out and volunteer for a project. If you are interested in more volunteer programming for your employees, please inquire about our Business Cares program.
Matching Gift Programs
Encourage your employees to give by creating a matching gift program. It encourages your employees to participate by letting them know that your business is investing in our community through United Way as well.
Many businesses match their employees gifts dollar for dollar, doubling the impact of each persons gift.
“74% of companies agree employee volunteering is a means to improve company image and 85% of companies agree that employee volunteering helps create healthier communities.”

Growing Needs
There are also growing needs in our community that are not currently being met.
- Due to increasing demand for financial assistance with vital needs such as utilities, prescriptions, transportation and rental costs, available funds deplete as agencies are running out of resources sooner each month than in the past.
- Agencies that coach clients on financial management and assist with monetary emergencies have noticed an increase in hurdles, such as foreclosures, bankruptcies, and fewer people are qualifying for public assistance.
- Currently there is limited capacity for mental health and substance abuse treatment for the un- and under- insured in Larimer County.
