Why United Way
When you give to the United Way of Larimer County Community Fund, you are making a wise investment. Our trained volunteers will disburse your gift among Partner Agencies. Your gift is far-reaching and will touch the lives of thousands in Larimer County.
Help Where it Matters Most
United Way focuses resources on the most important needs in the community.
United Way of Larimer County partners with Healthier Communities Coalition of Larimer County to form a Vision Council to identify needs. This group of volunteers is responsible for comprehensive identification and quantification of health and human service needs throughout the county. Ultimately, this Vision Council developed a list of health and human service goals for Larimer County for the next three years. From this comprehensive list, local volunteers determined United Way of Larimer County’s goals and funding priorities.
United Way is investing your dollars in these primary areas.
- Responding to Basic and Emergency Needs
- Providing Prevention Services
- Supporting Vulnerable Populations
Leadership Matters.
In addition to the money distributed by the community investment process to existing programs, United Way of Larimer County also funds special initiatives. These special initiatives meet new and emerging needs in Larimer County and provide services to people in need that are not available through any other existing source. In these cases, United Way works in collaboration with other community leaders to create an initiative and provide a solution. These initiatives include the Housing Services Day Center, Homelessness Prevention Initiative, Volunteer Center, 2-1-1 Information and Referral Center, Compass, and the Technical Assistance Partnership.
United Way is focused on the bottom-line results: the lives we change and the communities we shape. We don’t just measure results by how much money we raise. We look at the overall impact on specific goals that we’ve targeted and the lives and communities we have improved.
