At the core of every worthwhile endeavor are leaders whose caring and personal leadership set the course for others. In our community, thousands of generous and caring individuals are partnering with United Way to get results and build community. You can have the greatest impact on issues you care about by working with the United Way of Larimer County as your philanthropic advisor.
As a leadership giver, you can combine public purpose with private giving to make strategic investments in the whole range of health and human service issues in our community. Because United Way only funds programs with proven methods that match our community's needs, you can be assured that your investment is really making a difference.
Levels of Leadership Giving
There are several levels of leadership giving, each named in honor of a natural feature in Northern Colorado, representing the beauty and quality of life many of us enjoy here in Larimer County. The Alexis de Tocqueville Society is United Ways nationwide program to recognize outstanding community leaders who annually contribute $10,000 or more through their local United Way.

Benefits of Leadership Giving
Leadership givers whose annual contribution is $500 to $9,999
- Set a standard for philanthropic leadership in our community. Add your name to the many friends and neighbors who have made the commitment to support our community through a substantial gift. Your contribution will inspire others to do the same.
- Increase your personal impact on the quality of life in our community. For example, your $1000 gift could help Cecelia and her daughters towards a brighter future. Cecelia is becoming a hardworking employee at a local business and her daughters are breaking free of the cycle of abusive relationships. Through your donation, you are improving the quality of life in Larimer County.
- Provide you and your family with opportunities to network with other community leaders county and state wide. You will be invited to attend special events that will keep you in touch with County issues and emerging needs. You will also be invited to social events with other community leaders from throughout the area.
- Allow you to contribute to the community through a variety of options. For your convenience, we have the capability of accepting payroll deductions, credit card payments, direct transfers, gifts of stock and gifts of real estate to help you realize your charitable intentions.
- Be able to deduct a substantial amount from your income taxes. Your gift to United Way is deductible up to the limit of 50% of your adjusted gross income. United Way will provide the paperwork necessary to document your gift for tax purposes.
