All interested volunteers looking to serve on a board are encouraged to attend. The cost of the training is $20 and includes an overview of the expectations and general policies of serving on a Board of Directors, provides the volunteer with a book on the basic responsibilities of a board member, and allows the volunteer to learn more about possible nonprofits to be paired with. Alternative Spring Break - Youth Responding to Poverty
For the past 6 years United Way of Larimer County's Volunteer Center has organized "24 Hours to Help the Homeless” an alternative spring break project for junior and senior high students. This year we are introducing a new alternative spring break event which will educate and engage teens in volunteer and advocacy work around the issues of poverty and homelessness in Larimer County. The event will take place Monday, March 16, 2009 from 9:00am-9:00pm in Fort Collins. Larimer County youth in 7th-12th grade are invited to apply.
