WomenGive Spring Social, 2007

The colorful mask exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Fort Collins provided a lively backdrop for WomenGive’s Spring Social on March 1st. More than 80 women and their guests gathered at the event to learn about and support WomenGive, an organization that promotes philanthropy among women and works to impact the economic self-sufficiency of women and girls in Larimer County.

Deanna McCrery, WomenGive steering committee co-chair, spoke to the crowd about the organization’s impact and thanked the community for their contributions, including Bank of Choice, who underwrites all of WomenGive’s events and sponsors the Masks at MOCA.

In addition to enjoying the mask exhibit, the group sampled appetizers and wine provided by Food for Thought and Supermarket Liquors. About half the attendees at this year’s event were prospective WomenGive members, and the other half were current members. As a result of the social, six prospective members joined WomenGive.

The Masks at MOCA is an annual fundraising event for art education, in which community members and artists design masks for sale through a silent and live auction. The Spring Social private viewing could become an annual WomenGive event, as it proved popular and a great deal of fun.
