Knowledge Matters.
We involve our donors and the
community in identifying the issues
and needs that are most important
to them, and we work with our Partner
Agencies and other organizations to
create a collective solution that
no one agency could deliver individually.
United Way of Larimer
County has partnered with Healthier
Communities Coalition of Larimer County
to facilitate a visioning process.
The two organizations invited local
experts to join together to form a
Vision Council responsible for comprehensive
identification and quantification
of health and human service needs
throughout the county. Ultimately
this Vision Council developed a list
of health and human service goals
for Larimer County for the next three
years. Click here

Council.
While different organizations
will target different issues, this
allows everyone to be working from
the same base of information. The
vision council ensures that the community
is working together to identify and
quantify needs. Resources are scarce
and having this baseline information
allows groups to collaborate, avoiding
duplication and gaps in service.
Using information from the Vision Council and their own experiences in health and human services, local volunteers determine United Ways community goals and set United Way funding priorities. The volunteers then use these goals and priorities to select programs for funding. If there are no programs to meet an emerging need, United Way will work in collaboration with other community leaders to create an initiative and provide a solution.

Compass of Larimer County
United Way has collaborated with Larimer County to create the Compass website displaying a wide variety of data on important social issues in Larimer County. This website measures health and human service progress at a community-wide level. In addition to statistics, Compass posts reports and studies about our county, does comparative analyses of Larimer County to Colorado and the U.S., and provides links to many other valuable sources of local and national data. Information is constantly being added and updated, making Compass a continuous living report on the quality of life in Larimer County.
